We had a fun visit last weekend from Tina's sister Jeny and her four kids and Nana (Tina's mom Linda). They stayed two days with us before continuing on two Disneyland for a week. It was over 100 degrees both days they were here so we spent most of the time inside watching movies and being crazy. We did manage to get out to the Chevron company picnic which was hot but a lot of fun. We enjoyed having family around and getting to know our niece and nephews better. They get so much bigger every time we see them. The baby, who is two, entertained us a lot. He gets really crazy when he has a bit of coca-cola and earned the nickname crack-baby.
Tina spent the week with them in Disneyland and lots of fun. It was a nice distraction for her. Her nausea cooperated most of the time and she was able to go on lots of rides. I am so glad she got to go with them. I haven't been very enthusiastic about going back to Disneyland over the past few years. Going once a month when we first moved here kind of burned me out. So, if you ever need a good Disney guide let Tina know and she'll be glad to take you.
I drove down to LA Thursday night and we drove to Vegas on Friday to attend Tina's cousin's wedding. It was good to see a lot of Tina's extended family. Lots of whom I had never met or hadn't seen since we were married. We finished off the trip traveling to St. George on late Friday night to spend some time with my mommy and Joe. We celebrated Erin's birthday and all went to see "Get Smart".
It is always so nice to come to mom's house. We usually end up taking lots of naps and get recharged. But its back to Bakersfield tomorrow. We try to leave by 11 am to beat the LA traffic going home from Vegas. FYI...if you are ever driving to LA through Vegas never do it on a Sunday afternoon and never drive from LA toward Vegas on a Friday afternoon. It is a real sight to see thousands of cars parked in stop-and-go traffic out in the desert in the middle of nowhere for 50 to 100 miles.
